This
plant exhibits characteristics of both Agave americana and Agave
salmiana. The most prominent feature of its intermediate position
is the graceful curvature of the leaves, one of the traits of A. salmiana,
even though it looks like a typical A. americana in all other respects,
including its mature size. I am not aware of it ever having been
offered for sale in this area. Grows best in full sun, in a location
with good drainage. Requires no supplemental irrigation once established.
(Feed with 3 to 5 Agriform
21-gram,
2-year fertilizer tablets at the bottom of the hole at planting time.) |
