recently-described species from the highest mountains of northeastern Mexico
with smooth green leaves bearing impressive armament. The typical
form does not form suckers, which can be a problem in some landscape settings.
Grows best in full sun, in a location with good drainage. Requires
no supplemental irrigation once established.
