This
well-restrained clumper is one of the premier hedge plants for our zone.
This particular form has solid stems (others are hollow) and can grow 6'
to 8' high (but somewhat taller in shadier settings). Usually evergreen
to 18º F., but sudden plunges in temperature can defoliate it, especially
after a mild fall, when it has not become acclimated. Grows in full
sun to half-day sun. Looks best if given a deep watering every two
weeks during a dry summer.
(Feed with 5 to
7 Agriform 21-gram, 2-year fertilizer tablets at the bottom
of the hole at planting time.) |
