The
Barbados Cherry is the source of Acerola, a fruit with a high content of
Vitamin C. While the standard form can reach over 8' high, this form
stays under 2' and spreads by underground stems to form tight mounds of
small leaves. Bears small, pink flowers from April until the first
hard freeze. Grows in full sun to half-day sun. Looks best
if given a deep watering every two weeks during a dry summer.
