great tall groundcover (under 18" high) or accent plant around Mexican
Petunia (Ruellia) or Cherry Sage (Salvia) and its relatives.
Small, red fruits follow the flowers, and are used by children of all ages
as face paint. Grows in full sun to half-day sun. Looks best
if given a deep watering every two weeks during a dry summer, but can survive
with no supplemental irrigation.
