The
rose for those who swear they cannot grow roses! Just forget this
is a rose and treat it like a dwarf shrub. It is semi-evergreen and
produces a profusion of deep red flowers throught the growing season and
spradically during a mild winter. Looks great in combination with
Dwarf Yaupon Holly, Cherry Sage (Salvia) and the lower-growing ornamental
grasses, especially Gulf Muhly (Muhlenbergia capillaris) and Ruby
Muhly (Muhlenbergia capillaris var. filipes). Grows in full
sun. Looks best if given a deep watering every two weeks during a
dry summer.
