Though
native to Brazil and Argentina, this species has become naturalized throughout
the southeeastern U.S. The very fragrant large, white blooms - on
a 3' tall reddish-brown stalk - occur in several cycles from early summer
until late fall. While it forms a full and attractive clump in time,
it will spread to an even wider radius in perennially wet sites.
